In the Wages Calculation Settings, there are two different options for how the number of days in a month is considered when calculating salaries. Each option serves a different purpose:
1. Days in Month Type for Daily Wages Calculation
This setting is used to determine how to divide the monthly salary into a daily rate for normal cases, such as calculating base salary or unpaid leave deductions.
Below are three examples showing how the daily wage varies depending on the selected "Days in Month" method:
Example 1: Based on Calendar Days
If the monthly salary is THB 30,000, and the "Days in Month" is set to Calendar Days (e.g., 31 days in January):
Daily Wage = Monthly Salary ÷ Calendar Days in Month
= THB 30,000 ÷ 31
= THB 967.74 per day
Example 2: Based on Working Days
If the monthly salary is THB 30,000, and the "Days in Month" is set to Working Days (e.g., 23 working days in January):
Daily Wage = Monthly Salary ÷ Working Days in Month
= THB 30,000 ÷ 23
= THB 1,304.35 per day
Example 3: Fixed Amount (e.g., 30 Days)
If the monthly salary is THB 30,000, and the "Days in Month" is set to a Fixed Value of 30 days:
Daily Wage = Monthly Salary ÷ Fixed Days
= THB 30,000 ÷ 30
= THB 1,000 per day
2. Days in Month Type for Incomplete Month Wages Calculation
This setting defines the number of days used to calculate pro-rated salary for employees who do not work a full month — for example, when an employee joins or leaves in the middle of the month.
The selected number of days (e.g., Calendar Days, Working Days, or a Fixed Amount) is used to determine how much salary the employee should receive based on the actual number of days worked.
Below are three examples showing how the pro-rated salary varies depending on the selected "Days in Month" method:
Example 1: Based on Calendar Days
If the monthly salary is THB 30,000, and the "Days in Month" is set to Calendar Days (e.g., 31 days in January):
Employee joined on: 20 January
Actual working days: 12 days (from 20th to 31st)
Daily Wage = Monthly Salary ÷ Calendar Days in Month
= THB 30,000 ÷ 31
= THB 967.74 per day
Incomplete Month Wages = Daily Wage × Actual Working Days
= THB 967.74 × 12
= THB 11,612.88
Example 2: Based on Working Days
If the monthly salary is THB 30,000, and the "Days in Month" is set to Working Days (e.g., 23 working days in January, counting Monday–Friday and public holidays):
Employee joined on: 20 January
Actual working days: 10 working days (from 20th to 31st, excluding weekends)
Daily Wage = Monthly Salary ÷ Working Days in Month
= THB 30,000 ÷ 23
= THB 1,304.35 per day
Incomplete Month Wages = Daily Wage × Actual Working Days
= THB 1,304.35 × 10
= THB 13,043.50
Example 3: Fixed Amount (e.g., 30 Days)
If the monthly salary is THB 30,000, and the "Days in Month" is set to a Fixed Value of 30 days:
Employee joined on: 20 January
Actual working days: 12 days (from 20th to 31st)
Daily Wage = Monthly Salary ÷ Fixed Days
= THB 30,000 ÷ 30
= THB 1,000 per day
Incomplete Month Wages = Daily Wage × Actual Working Days
= THB 1,000 × 12
= THB 12,000
And how to apply this option to February:
Below are three examples based on different "Days in Month" methods, assuming:
Example 1: Based on Calendar Days
- Days in Month: 28
- Actual calendar days worked: 19
Daily Wage = THB 30,000 ÷ 28 = THB 1,071.43 per day
Incomplete Month Wages = THB 1,071.43 × 19 = THB 20,357.14
Example 2: Based on Working Days
- Working Days in February 2025: 20 (Mon–Fri)
- Actual working days from 10–28 Feb: 15
Daily Wage = THB 30,000 ÷ 20 = THB 1,500.00 per day
Incomplete Month Wages = THB 1,500.00 × 15 = THB 22,500.00
Example 3: Fixed Amount (e.g., 30 Days)
- Fixed Days: 30
- Actual calendar days worked: 19
Daily Wage = THB 30,000 ÷ 30 = THB 1,000.00 per day
Incomplete Month Wages = THB 1,000.00 × 19 = THB 19,000.00
You can apply Wages Calculation Settings to specific Employee Groups, allowing different groups to follow different salary calculation rules based on their roles, contracts, or pay structures.
Note: Each Employee Group can only be assigned to one Wages Calculation Setting at a time.
