To ensure accurate timesheet records, it’s important for employees to clock in and out consistently. However, there are times when they may forget to clock out, which can lead to incorrect working hours and require managers to make manual corrections.
The Auto Clock Out feature helps prevent this by automatically clocking employees out after a set number of hours, helping maintain clean and accurate records.
How It Works
When enabled, the system will automatically clock out an employee once they reach the maximum allowable duration of a single work session, based on the number of hours specified in the settings. This duration is counted from the time the employee clocks in.
For example, if the auto clock-out is set to 12 hours:
An employee clocks in at 8:00 AM
If they forget to clock out, the system will automatically clock them out at 8:00 PM
How to Enable Auto Clock Out
Follow the steps below to activate and configure the auto clock-out feature:
1. Go to Timesheet > Timesheet Settings > Settings > Advance Settings.
2. Scroll to the Auto Clock Out section and select the checkbox for "Auto clock out after".
Input the number of hours after which the system should auto clock out an employee. This value should reflect the maximum expected duration of a work shift for your organization.
If your longest shift is typically 10 hours, consider setting auto clock out to 11 or 12 hours to allow for minor extensions while still preventing forgotten clock-outs.
