Activating Automated Medical Leave

Modified on Tue, 1 Oct at 1:28 PM

The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) provides specific guidelines for paid outpatient sick leave and hospitalisation leave entitlements, which are prorated based on an employee’s length of service. These guidelines ensure that employees who meet the eligibility criteria receive appropriate paid sick leave benefits.

Understanding Sick and Hospitalisation Leave Eligibility:

  • Employees must have completed at least 3 months of service to qualify for paid outpatient sick leave or hospitalisation leave.
  • For employees with less than 6 months of service, sick leave entitlements are prorated based on their length of employment.

To enable automated medical leave functionality, follow these steps:

1. From your dashboard, navigate to Leave > Leave Settings.

2. In the Other Settings tab, select the option "Follow MOM Leave Regulations" to activate the automated medical leave settings.

3. A confirmation message will appear, informing you that the selection cannot be modified after saving. Click "Save" to finalize the activation.

4. Upon saving, the system will automatically generate the default paid sick leave and hospitalization leave types. These will appear in your company's leave types list and assigned to employees according to their eligibility.

While the default leave types cannot be removed or edited, the following settings can still be customized:

  • Approval Template
  • Certificate Required
  • Minimum Notice Period (e.g., how many days in advance the leave request must be submitted)
  • Terms & Conditions Agreement (e.g., employees need to agree to specific terms before submitting the request)
