[Audit Log] How to retrieve Audit Logs for System or Admin Role Changes

Modified on Fri, 28 Aug at 2:39 PM

Regular audits of administrative access are a critical part of maintaining your organization's security posture. Use the steps below to track when permissions—such as Super Admin rights—are granted within the platform.Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Navigate to the Audit Log: Log in to your HReasily account and navigate to the Audit Log section.
  2. Select the Employees Tab: Even when looking for administrative changes, the audit trail is categorised under the Employees section.
  3. Apply Date Filters: Set the date range to cover the specific time period you are investigating (e.g., the day of or the week surrounding the change).
  4. Filter by User: In the "Filter by User" field, search for the individual who performed the action (the person who granted the rights).
  5. Filter by Module: This is the most critical step. Select the following modules to ensure the logs are captured correctly:
    • Employee
    • User
  6. Search Results: The system will display relevant logs. Check the Resource column to find the name of the user who received the new permissions (the person who had their rights updated).
  7. Refine (If Necessary): If the results list is too long, use the "Filter By Actions" dropdown and select Update to narrow down the log entries.

Troubleshooting

If you have followed these steps and the records are still not appearing:

  • Check Date Permissions: Ensure the date range encompasses the specific date and time the action occurred.
  • Verify User: Double-check that you are filtering by the user who granted the rights (the Admin who performed the change), not the person who received them.
  • Verify Role/Permission: Ensure your own account has the necessary permissions to view full audit logs. If you still cannot see the data, please reach out to your primary account administrator to verify your access level.
